Hearty Pea soup with smoked pork

Preparation:
Peel the onions and chop finely. Place a large pot on the stove and heat the fat. Sauté the onions until soft and deglaze with 1.5 litres of water. Add peas, Kassler chops, dried marjoram and bay leaves. Bring it all to the boil. Simmer at low heat for a further 1 hour. Stir occasionally. Clean, wash and slice the carrots. Wash, peel and quarter the potatoes. Clean, wash and cut the leeks into rings. After about 30 minutes of cooking add the vegetables to the meat and peas. Take the Kassler chops out of the soup, remove the bone and cut into cubes. Cut the sausage into slices and add. Put it all into the soup, then season with salt and pepper and garnish with fresh marjoram.
