Rice and apple pudding

Preparation:
Wash the rice, then heat up the milk, add some salt and grated lemon skin. When hot, add the rice. Separate the eggs, then mix the yolks with sugar and rum and stir until it gets frothy. Then beat the egg whites.
After the rice is finished, let it cool down a little, then add the egg yolk mixture. Then blend in the beaten egg whites. Take a baking dish and grease it with plenty of margarine and add half of the rice mixture.
Now wash the apples and cut into slices. Do not remove the skin. Next, put the apple slices on top of the rice, but keep 3- 4 slices for later. Now decorate the rice with candied cherries, washed raisins and almonds.
Lastly, cover with the remaining rice and put the apple slices on top. Garnish with some butter flakes, then bake for 1 hour in a preheated oven at medium heat.
