Youth Pastor
The youth of today needs a compass which is 100% correct. The youths are so influenced by television, computers, internet, video, newspapers etc. that only the opinions of the masses are important. We call this peer-culture = synchronisation. "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few“ (Matthew 9,35 - 38). Especially the boy’s group need shepherds of God's flock (1.Peter 5,2-3). The youths are looking for answers to their questions, they are looking for a sense to life and they are looking for measures. Can we provide them with this?

- By winning trust
- By being an example
- By trusting in the good (trusting him)
- Through receiving his gifts (living in the right place and discovering gifts)
- Through conceptual formulation (delegating functions)
- Through warning (= shaping and meaningful pastoral work)
- Through requesting spiritual life
Are authority, empowerment and pastoral work important in youth work?
- Only a person, who is personally under godly authority, can possess authority and empowerment.
- I need an unadulterated relationship to Jesus
- I must be able to listen to God
- I must be aware that I have to account for my life and for my group in front of God.
The youth leader in Christian youth work is happy to be a pastor, is determined, can listen very well and can hear the youths. The pastor is already a good example through his life and his behaviour. In reply to questions such as „who I am? “, „who would I like to be? “, „what do others think of me? “We can point out the way which God offers us.
You are wanted by God!
You are loved by God!
God needs you!
