Tin can lanterns or wind chimes

Super wind chimes or lanterns can be made from old tin cans. With a sharp nail, holes should be hammered into the tin can. A round piece of wood can be placed inside the can to stop it become deformed when the holes are punched. The children can think up super designs (Christmas tree, stars etc) according to taste. To complete the lantern, a tea light should be placed inside the can. Should you wish to hang the lantern up, you will require a wire attached to the can.
